Wedding in the Philippines is very stressful to the bride and groom because of the number of participants and the people who will be attending. This is how it works for most Filipino bride and goom. Then groom is the one responsible for most of the expenses. Expense for reception, for the attire of the entourage, invitation cards, decoration of the venue, give aways and the transportation. Most of the people have no cars so, there must provide vehicle for their guests. They must have a reserve funds because there is always a tendency to have shortage of food during reception. You might be wondering why? well, because the invited guests will bring another guest this is the sad truth about filipino weddings.
Their participants are too many. Usually 4 bride's maids and 4 groom's men. 4 flower girls. a bible bearer and a covenant bearer. A maid of honor and a best man. Sometimes they will also have little bride and little groom. They have lots of principal sponsors sometimes 24-30 people.or 12 -15 pairs which they call Ninang and Ninong. They also have singers, wedding coordinators and reception coordinator. Ushers and usherretes and gift attendants. You can just imagined how many people will there be for just the participants? Well., what about the relatives, friends and other guests? Young and old are present, children and adults alike. It is very stressful for the bride and groom to make their day a successful one but they are supported by their loved ones.
American wedding is different. The bride's parents' were the one responsible for the wedding expense. The bride's family is the one facilitating everything for the wedding. The wedding party are not so plenty. I mean their participants are not as plenty as the Filipino wedding. Sometimes they only have maid of honor and best man, no bride's maids. they have no principal sponsors. The wedding party are the relatives of both sides. They seldom have flower girls to spread flowers on the isle. No lavish decoations of whatsoever in the wedding area. Well, it maybe depends upon the people who are wedded but most American weddings I attended are so simple and very different from that of the Filipino weddings. In the Philippines even if the groom is not rich, he will provide a big party for his bride. Wedding in the Philippines is a big deal for the bride and groom that's why they make it a special and memorable one because most Filipino couples live together for life and that's the ir compensation.
