Advice On Wedding Speeches Father Of Bride - Relationships - Weddings

The day has nearly arrived. Your daughter is getting married and even though there are more important things, you still need to make sure that you have a speech ready.

It should be fairly easy after all, you have raised her and have many stories to tell, so all you have to do is put it down on paper. Where to start though? should it be funny? more conservative? I've had a lot of guys come to us and say "wedding speeches father of bride, need help".

The problem with most is that they either leave it to the last minute and quickly scribble something down, or they think they can just "wing it" when it is their turn, only to go blank when a hundred pairs of eyes are staring at them. Not the best situation to be in!

Give yourself a few minutes each day to write down a few memories and important milestones that your daughter has gone through, or you have gone through together and then write down a few ways to describe her and how much she means to you.

Here is a list of things that will help you on your way and hopefully shorten the process.

Begin by giving your thanks to both family and friends for joining in on this joyous occasion. Let everyone know who you are (some people might not know). Give the guests a little bit of insider info about your daughter. Her hobbies, quirks, passions etc.. without going overboard into cheesy or insensitive territory. Then tell her how lovely she looks. Let everyone in on how you have watched her grow up until the wedding day. To end this point of the speech let her know on behalf of you and your wife how proud you are of her and wish her well on the next chapter of her life.

Talk about the first time you met him, and what you first thought about him. (Be nice). Tell the guests how good they are together and how he makes her happy. You are happy to have him as an official member of family now and are looking forward to both families getting together. Thank everyone that had a hand in wedding preparations, with special emphasis on your wife and the grooms parents.

To end it all off, ask everyone to raise their glasses in a toast for the bride and groom and once again wish them well for their journey as man and wife.

These are just a few of many points that you need to take into account. There are plenty more and speech making would make your life much easier if you had a professional guide.
